Trinity Lutheran Church is a gathering of God’s people, anchored in the Post neighborhood, reflecting God’s freeing power to our congregation, our neighborhood, and the wider community.
Our Values:
Love
We believe that God is love. We believe that God loves everyone in the world. We share God’s love for us by loving others. “In this is love, not that we loved God but that God loved us” (1 John 4:10).
Grace
We believe God’s love is unconditional. We don’t earn grace; God loves and forgives us because love and forgiveness is who God is. God is the forgiver, the one who forgives us, and who makes it so we can forgive others. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8)
Inclusion
We believe God created all of humanity in God’s image. Since every person is made in the image of God, every person is part of God’s family. Whatever your gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, income, mental or physical ability, age, religious background, nationality, or political ideology, you are welcome here. Diversity of skills, gifts, talents, opinions, and experiences are what strengthen the body of Christ. “For all of you are one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28b).
Social Justice
We believe God’s will for the world is for every living thing to thrive. (By thrive we mean access to basic needs as well as space to grow and to know you are loved and accepted). We take seriously God’s mandate in Micah to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8).
Action
We believe in putting our faith in action. We follow Jesus’ example through our relationships with our neighbors and by serving all in need. “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40).
